MediaWiki Templates

I was surfing the internet tonight and was looking at some articles on Wikipedia. I saw how company articles all had the same structure. This made me curious so I decided I’d check out how to work with templates in MediaWiki.

I have a research wiki that I use to keep track of my research. I have paper reviews that I write and it was getting tedious to type the headings and other elements that were in every review. Well, I created a template for my paper reviews and it has now made it a lot easier to create my reviews. It only took me a minute a two to create the template. I have found MediaWiki to be my favorite wiki.

We currently use Kwiki in the ECLab at Brigham Young University and it is not that bad of a wiki but I think the layout looks old fashioned. I asked Phil Windley if he ever thought about using MediaWiki instead and he said he looked at it a little bit but chose Kwiki because of its ease of use. Personally, I would recommend MediaWiki.
