IIW 2005: Winding Down

All the sessions have come to a close and now the group has gathered again for some concluding remarks. The floor has been opened up to anyone who has anything else to say in terms of what was accomplished and what people hope to continue to accomplish.
One thing that has been said is that bringing the ideas together has been a great, friendly experience. It sounds like a lot of people were able to get some additional vision on what they are already doing and some connections with people who can help further the world of Internet identity.
One of the questions that has been asked was what books would people recommend. Phil Windley has been recording the books that are being suggested and should be posting the titles on the IIW 2005 wiki in the near future.
An interesting comment was made during the closing session. Johannes Ernst mentioned that although we are here talking about identity and trust, one of two things are taking place:
- We do not trust each other in what each person is doing, or
- We really don’t know much of anything anyone here is really trying to do or is doing.
I have learned more than I’ll ever be able to remember. This conference has been an awesome experience for me. I plan on taking some of the ideas I heard these past two days and see how I can include some of these ideas in my own research. I have also lengthened my list of contacts that can help advance my research.
